Have you ever wondered what options you have after your PostDoc? Should you stay in science, or should you change to industry, or something totally different? And how should you go about it?
With our new seminar series “CaPS”, we want to give insights into the various options we have as PostDocs. We will invite PhD holders and former PostDocs, who went through this decision and application process already and want to share their experience. Some managed to stay in science, others took non-scientific or outside academia path, for example industry, administration, editing or data management. They will talk about job opportunities in their field, what their job looks like and which skills one needs.
To start of the Career Paths Series, Ronnie Berntsson, Assistant Professor at Umeå University, will talk about “Strategies for postdocs that want to start a group in Sweden”. The event will be on Zoom, Wednesday 19th May at 6 pm.
What will and/or should be your next step after your PostDoc? How does it work if you want to stay in science and how to get a permanent position in the Swedish university system? How to become lecturer? What should you keep in mind and do already now?
Ronnie will cover those and other aspects. In addition, we will have plenty of time for discussions and questions after his overview.
