DESCRIPTION:Dear Postdocs\,\n\nWinter is coming and UPS invites you to enjoy the last rays of sun at the sea! This time\, we explore Strömbäck Kont’s Naturreservat.\n\nHIKE DETAILS:\n\n\n\nWe take the Bus 126 at 9 am sharp from Vasaplan\, platform M. The ticket is 54 SEK and you purchase it via the tabussen app. Yes\, it is a bit early for some\, I know\, but there are not that many busses running this time of the year :=)\n\n\nThe track will lead us from Strömbäck village down to the top of the peninsula. The entire distance should be between 10 and 16 km\, depending on our mood and condition.\n\n\nThe Bus 126 takes us back at 3.20 pm to Vasaplan M\, where we arrive about 30 minutes later\n\n\n\nWHEN: Saturday\, October 5\, 8.50 am at Vasaplan\, platform M (check the link! DESCRIPTION:Dear Postdocs\, \nIf you are a new postdoc\, this is for you. \n“On 30th October 2024\, a welcome day is being organised for all new staff and scholarship holders by Umeå University. The welcome day is an opportunity for you to learn more about the university´s vision\, organisation\, supporting activities and to quickly get into your work and the community. \nThe day begins with a warm welcome from the Vice-Chancellor\, who will share more about the university’s vision\, mission\, and core values. This will be followed by a presentation on university’s idea – trends and traditions over 1000 years. \nThroughout the day\, presentations will be held in English covering topics such as career paths within academia\, pedagogical qualifications\, and academic writing. Simultaneously\, presentations in Swedish will cover subjects such as the legal framework\, decision-making structures at the university\, and the digital workplace. \nRefreshments and lunch will be provided during the day.
