DESCRIPTION:Do you want to see the river and the sea just by turning your back? Do you want to learn more about the history of Umeå’s wood transport industry? Do you want to enjoy the last traces of snow and ice in the forest and the river? Do you want to see migratory birds coming back to the north after the winter? Then\, you are most welcome this Saturday to our UPS Spring hike! \nWe will hike from Holmsund\, to the south of Umeå\, to Holmen\, a little island near the end of the Österfjärden. The hike is approximately 7 km in total in flat terrain. \nYou can find (much!) more information and tips on what to bring here: https://forms.office.com/e/VjuwcQ8TF0 \nIt is very important that you register for this event so we can make sure to begin the hike as a group! SUMMARY:National Tuberculosis Meeting and a workshop “Metabolomics in TB and other infections”
DESCRIPTION:The topic: New approaches in tuberculosis diagnostics and treatment. The meeting aims to bring together Swedish professionals engaged in tuberculosis management and research as well as international partners. During presentations\, a poster session\, and a workshop we will discuss new approaches in tuberculosis diagnostics\, treatment and research. The workshop will be focused on metabolomics as a tool to address diagnostic challenges and drug activity mechanisms as well as bacterial physiology in the context of infectious diseases. You could bring up your example for a discussion. The poster session will include clinical cases.

DESCRIPTION:The Umeå Postdoc Society is happy to invite you to our second Postdoc Retreat on September 2nd – 3rd! \n\nThe registration deadline is July 31st\, 2023 \n\nThe 2-day retreat will be held in Hotell Lappland\, Lycksele\, by the shore of the Ume River\, and is aimed at networking among all postdocs currently employed at UmU or SLU in Umeå! \n\nWe will meet at the hotel on Saturday (September 2) for lunch\, with the official program starting at 14:30 and ending on Sunday (September 3) afternoon. All costs\, including the lunches on Saturday and Sunday\, and the overnight stay at the hotel will be covered by UPS\, except for the transportation to and from Lycksele. You can get to Lycksele by bus\, or with your own car of course. \n
